Why We Built This Site
North Carolina provides several public access routes, yet none serves as a complete Mecklenburg County criminal-history warehouse. MCSO controls booking, detention, and warrant-verification channels. The Clerk of Superior Court keeps filed charges and dispositions. Police reports remain with CMPD or the town agency that created them. The SBI supplies fingerprint-based personal review, NCDAC maintains state correctional status, and the state registry covers registration data. We organize the verified contacts, fees, portal fields, and request steps for those separate offices.
What You Will Find Here
- Local record routes: how a Mecklenburg County court case lookup differs from a booking or police-report search
- Personal-review steps: how the SBI fingerprint process, clerk search, and public eCourts access differ
- Verified contacts: where to reach MCSO, the clerk, CMPD, town police agencies, and state systems
- Record-clearing routes: where North Carolina expunction forms are found and filed in Mecklenburg County
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not a North Carolina or Mecklenburg County office. It has no affiliation with a court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those limits mean:
- We do not retrieve records or perform official background checks
- We cannot submit expunction petitions or public-record requests for a visitor
- We cannot certify a court file, rap sheet, booking record, or other government document
- We do not give legal advice about a charge, warrant, judgment, or eligibility rule
- We cannot promise that an agency has not changed a fee, telephone number, address, or schedule
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as MCSO, the Clerk of Superior Court, a police department, or the SBI.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes shown on some pages. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. We may receive a referral fee when use of a tool leads to a paid signup, which helps fund public access to this reference. We neither set the provider's charge nor control the records it returns.
